Healthy Choices

IFPN is more than just providing food. We deliver food that has nutritional value and can help to keep our community healthy.

Hunger is a Major Public Health Issue

Low-income families and seniors are at a disproportionately higher risk of developing diet-related health issues such as obesity, diabetes and hypertension.

Our Nutrition Educator, Katy Galton, purchases healthy items and develops nutrition education programs in partnership with other community agencies such as Atlantic Health to help people prevent and/or manage health issues with proper diet.

Each month, she demonstrates the making of a healthy recipe in our teaching kitchen. As part of our ongoing commitment to offer nutrition education, Katy instructs on how to prepare food in a nutritious manner. Anyone can benefit!
